Usually, when you are meeting someone new for the first time a few things always come up in the conversation. Where are you from? When is your birthday? What’s your zodiac sign? Hi! My name is Jewel. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Today is my birthday and I’m a Scorpio.
Usually, when you tell someone you are a Scorpio you either get one or two reactions. A side-eye or a friendly response.I don’t follow a lot of astrology but I do believe people who are born around the same time of year share similar personality traits. But I will tell you that Scorpios are the most misunderstood signs in astrology. We really aren’t that complex when you get to know us. A few characteristics of the Scorpio female is a that we are loyal, a true friend, honest to the core, intense, mysterious, hard-working, one not to cross, passionate, loving, and influential.
I love being a Scorpio so when J.Crew released their limited edition zodiac graphic tees this summer. I had to purchase one! These zodiac t-shirts flew off the shelves at J.Crew because I looked for other signs for friends as gifts for the holidays and they were all gone. Luckily, J.Crew still had the Scorpio t-shirt in my size online. In honor of my birthday today, I’m rocking my Scorpio t-shirt! Even though its chilly outside I’ve paired this graphic tee with a pair of black jeans and a jacket.

Hey Ya’ll! It has been almost two weeks since I’ve last written a blog post. Let’s just say life has gotten the best of me lately and I haven’t had time to write a blog post or find some creative energy to do so. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently graduated with my Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University at the beginning of May. After 16 months of writing hundreds of research papers until the wee hours of the morning. Let’s just say this girl is tired…
In addition to having the burnt out syndrome. My weekends have been jam packed and after work all I’ve wanted to do is exercise, cook dinner, or spend time with friends. Let’s just I’ve been taking some time to myself these past few weeks to find some balance again and just breath and enjoy life. It has really been refreshing. I’ve also got some new projects I’m working on behind scenes that I’ll reveal sometime to you all in the next few months. So stay tuned!
But for now I’m back to blogging and I’ve got some exciting blog posts to share with you over the next few weeks.
Spring is officially here! I guess? Last week, the weather was in the 40s and this week the weather is in the 80s in Atlanta. Atlanta is known for is unpredictable temperatures. You never know what you will get when you walk outside. So right now I am wearing lightweight layers that are easy to peel off as the temperature rises.
This outfit from Old Navy is perfect for wearing on a weekend trip to the farmers market or for grabbing coffee with friends. The military style jacket is lightweight and can be thrown into a large tote bag toward the end of a busy day.

Anyone else caught off guard by this cold swoop of weather? Last week the highs in Atlanta were in the 70s. This week the highs are in the 40s. Yesterday I was so rushed to get out the house for work I forgot to bundle up. Lesson learned! Let’s just say, baby it’s cold outside!
I’m better prepared today. I had a feeling old man winter wasn’t gone for good. I have been saving this post to the share with you on a cold day.
The one thing I love about winter is the layers of clothing you get to wear. This blanket scarf from old navy has become one of favorite winter staples. It’s not too heavy but easily pairs with a lot of classic pieces in my wardrobe.

If you ever wanted to stand out in a crowd, this animal print dress is just what you want to wear. I wore this dress out for a girls night out a few weeks ago, and it was definitely a head turner. I love it because you can dress it up or dress it down like I did with this jean jacket. I usually stay away from bold prints, but I am trying incorporate new patterns into my wardrobe.
Not only is this leopard dress great for a night out during the summer, but it can also easily take you right into the fall when paired with a long black jacket or a sweater. This look can be worn a million different ways to appeal to all dayparts of your life.
Tobi has several other bold print dresses that will add a little spice to your day. I am also loving this floral print perfect for a Sunday brunch and this scarf print dress perfect for dancing the night away during your next date night.
