Summer Fashion

Summer is just around the corner and this season it is all about the shortest shorts. Whether they are patterned, army green, scalloped, laced, brightly colored or floral, you can expect to see these looks on streets near you. I’m not a shorts girl because I hate my legs but I am looking forward to testing out a pair of patterned shorts this summer.

What style of shorts are you planning to wear this summer?

Today’s Splurge Vs. Steal was to find the perfect tote bag for the summer.

My co-worker’s Husband just bought her the cutest tote bag for Mother’s Day. I’ve admired her bag for days and finally asked her where he got it. I went online to find the bag but I discovered it was way to expensive for my taste.

A few weeks later I spotted a similar version at two retail stores for under $50 dollars and I knew that this was a bag that I wanted to tote around this summer. So searched online to find two similar bags at high and low price points. Check out the totes I found below!

1. The Leather Transport Tote by Madewell- $168

2. Vibrant Tote by Forever 21 – $24.80

Hi I’m Tashia and I am a good friend of Jewel’s who owns a music public relations agency in Atlanta called Rock Polish PR . Now that we are in the beginning of summer concert season, I thought this would be perfect time to share what to wear to this summer’s most popular concerts.

Summer concerts are fun and challenging opportunities for fashion. And if nothing else, they present great opportunities to dress up or go outside your fashion comfort zone. With concerts, you have to take many things in to consideration:

How many stairs do you have to climb?

Is the venue outside and how is the weather?

How much stuff will you be carrying?

Above are some of today’s latest fashions suited for this summer’s hottest hip-hop, pop and rock concert tours. These fashions are inspired by the music of Drake, Madonna and Foster the People but can be adapted for similar artists.

Drake Concert: The target outfit for this concert is fun and different but classically casual. Stand out with a fan tee that showcases the lyrics of the artist and pair with some comfortable but different wedges. Keep your hands free for applause with a spacious bag that can also be worn as a cross-body. Oversized cat-eye sunglasses and a golden zigzag bracelet complete the young money outfit.

Drake Tee by StayFly Clothing-$20.40, Red Bottom Hallen Wedges by Calvin Klein-$79, Denim Shorts by H&M-$29, Cat Eye Glasses by Urban Outfitters-$14, Zigzag Bracelet Hex By Lady Grey-$29

Madonna Concert: Attending a Madonna concert can be a fashion event in itself. If you want to stay away from the 80′s, muted gold tones mixed with the latest shade of pink in a slouchy leather clutch will keep your look in 2012. The heels are somewhat modest in color but they are bold in design. If you are going to wear heels to a Madonna concert (and you know you are), the heels might as well feature an oversized bow in the back!  The entire outfit dances around the black and white striped tee tucked into tailored gold dress shorts. A playful charm bracelet gives this outfit some movement and coordinates with the other golden pieces. In this Madonna inspired ensemble, you can dance around comfortably while looking stylish, classy, funky and fun!

Mixed Gold Bracelet by H&M-$5,95, Gold Shorts by H&M-$49.50, Caseyy Peep Toe Pumps by Betsey Johnson-$59, Striped Tank by H&M-$5.95,Black Blazer by H&M-$34.95, Hot Pink Slouchy Leather Clutch from Etsy

Foster the People Concert: Foster the People is mostly playing outdoor amphitheaters.  Many outdoor theaters allow you to bring a blanket and sometimes even a picnic for those cool, summer nights.  A one piece leopard print romper will keep you comfortable and cool. The straw fedora hat will allow airflow to keep your hair cool while providing some shade as well. Faux reader glasses are an optional but trendy hipster look. If it is your first time trying the hipster glasses look, make sure you pair them with simple clothes, simple eye makeup and a standout lip color. This will frame your face with out taking you overboard. For all your concert swag, take one large fashionable tote that can carry everything from a makeup bag to a small picnic blanket. Complete with comfortable grommet sandals and rock on.

Farah Straw Fedora by Banana Republic-$35,Leopard Print Romper by H&M-$17.95,Reader Glasses by Urban Outfitters-$14, Strappy Sandals by H&M-$24.95, Striped Orange Bag by H&M-$39,95
