Usually, when you are meeting someone new for the first time a few things always come up in the conversation. Where are you from? When is your birthday? What’s your zodiac sign? Hi! My name is Jewel. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Today is my birthday and I’m a Scorpio.
Usually, when you tell someone you are a Scorpio you either get one or two reactions. A side-eye or a friendly response.I don’t follow a lot of astrology but I do believe people who are born around the same time of year share similar personality traits. But I will tell you that Scorpios are the most misunderstood signs in astrology. We really aren’t that complex when you get to know us. A few characteristics of the Scorpio female is a that we are loyal, a true friend, honest to the core, intense, mysterious, hard-working, one not to cross, passionate, loving, and influential.
I love being a Scorpio so when J.Crew released their limited edition zodiac graphic tees this summer. I had to purchase one! These zodiac t-shirts flew off the shelves at J.Crew because I looked for other signs for friends as gifts for the holidays and they were all gone. Luckily, J.Crew still had the Scorpio t-shirt in my size online. In honor of my birthday today, I’m rocking my Scorpio t-shirt! Even though its chilly outside I’ve paired this graphic tee with a pair of black jeans and a jacket.
Last week Madewell (J.Crew’s little sister brand), announced Salonge Knowles (Beyonce’ Younger Hip Sis) would be the face of their fall campaign. Salonge is perfect cover girl for Madewell’s campaign. She’s down to earth, has a great sense of style, confident and is carefree: all of things that I think of when I think of a Madewell girl. Salonge has been in the limelight for years but recently she has become such an IT girl. Everyone in the fashion industry wants a piece of Salonge. Check out Madewell’s fall campaign below.
Lately, I have noticed several brands have decided to join the blogging world. Earlier this week Anthropologie launched its blog Etymologie on a tumblr account and last month J.Crew launched their unofficial blog 770 Behind the Line. I’m excited to have two of my favorite brands join the blogging world. Being able to see what inspires them to design and the behind the scenes of the business is pretty cool. Some major fashion brands are still leery about using social media and have a non-existing presence on Twitter, Facebook, or the blogging world. Which I think is crazy because that is where I as the consumer find out most of my news these days.
