How Does Your Garden Grow?

It’s that time of year when many of you are starting to plan for your summer garden! Last year around this time I was moving into my new home, so I really wasn’t thinking about gardening. This year, I’m planning a small little herb and vegetable garden on my patio. Space is limited because I do have patio chairs and tables. I found this excellent article from Apartment Therapy on how to how start a small container garden. I was searching through Pinterest and I found several ideas that may actually work for me and my space.

I’m thinking of planting herbs, kale, cherry tomatoes, beets, and sweet peppers. Are you planning a garden this year? What are you planting?

Adding Pops of Color to Your Home

Yesterday was the first day of spring! When I think of spring, I think of bright colors, florals, and pastels. Inspired by the recent color focused issues of Better Homes and Gardens and Rue magazine, I thought today would be the perfect day to talk about how to add pops of color to your home!

1. Brighten Up Your Living Room with Colorful Pillows  and Fresh Flowers

Designing a Home Office

Later this summer I’m thinking about turning my extra bedroom into a home office/ guest room. I’ve been searching through Pinterest, Houzz, and the internet for inspiration but haven’t found the exact look I’m going for just yet. I want the space to feel open and airy for guests staying over but also serve as a functional office area as well. I’m not the best when it comes to organization, so less is always better for me so that I can avoid complete chaos. So I plan to keep the room simple but chic by implementing clean lines, neutrals, with pops of bright colors.. Check out my inspiration board below.

A Kitchen Makeover

I will be celebrating a year in my condo in April. I’ve started to think about small updates that I want to make to my home in 2014. I want to start with the kitchen by making small updates like changing the black plash and paint color. While at  dinner last week with the girls from Southern Color and other Atlanta home and lifestyle bloggers, we got to discussing this project. The girls from Southern Color mentioned that Home Depot hosts Her DIY each month and that they have a class on backsplashes coming up in the spring. I thought what perfect timing for my kitchen project!

I’m thinking of painting the walls a cream color and adding in a mosaic tile backsplash. Here is some inspiration below on what I’m thinking about doing. I can’t wait to share the before and after with you all!
