In my last post, I invited you to join me to attend the Macy’s Culinary Council event with Marcus Samuelsson last weekend in Atlanta. The event was such a success that they had to turn people away because they had a larger turnout than expected. I got a front seat and was able to sample all of his delicious treats for the big game!
Marcus had kids from Atlanta’s Young Chefs Academy in the audience at the event. He used two young aspiring chefs as assistants during the demo.
Marcus prepared three dishes for us: Crab cakes, Dirty Rice with Shrimp, and a Fried Yardbird. They were all very yummy and I can’t wait to try them at home. He was also available after the demo to sign his books. While I was the event I ran into several blogger friends that I hadn’t seen in a while and was glad to catch up with them.
