I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post about my weekend getaway to New York. Well I’m back to tell you more about how much fun I had this weekend in the city.
So I spent Friday afternoon at the Museum of Modern Art walking around and just soaking in my surroundings. I love art and I could have spent all day in that museum! I had a chance to see all of the great modern artists: Pollack, Picasso, Mondrain, and de Kooning.
Saturday, I met up with my best friend Susan who lives in Conneticut for brunch at this quaint eatery in Brooklyn called Rose Water. They offer a $15 fix prix brunch menu. You get a choice of your entree and any drink off their menu. I ordered the baked polenta with goat cheese, kale, and poached eggs. I got the homemade apple cider as my drink. This was more than enough food for me and I ate way to much. They also have an awesome bread basket that comes with homemade challah bread, pumpkin bread, whole grain bread, french bread and a side of homemade butter and apple butter. So if you are in Brooklyn check out this place!
After brunch we headed to Williamsburg to do some thrift shopping at Buffalo Exchange. I ended up leaving with a cute sweater dress and a wool houndstooth skirt for only $17. How awesome is that!
I parted ways with my friend Susan and headed to Chelsea to attend Lucky Magazine’s Lucky Shops. I had a blast at Lucky Shops! We scored free drinks and a makeover. I was so tired after this event that I was ready to find a place to sit down. So we walked over to Chelsea Market in search of some really good eats. My friend Allison got hot chocolate from the famous Jacques Torres chocolate shop while I salivated over the crepes from Bar Suzette.
I ended my trip in New York by cheering on Alabama at Rare Bar and Grill in Midtown East while enjoying one of the best cobb salad’s I have ever eaten.
It was fun New York! Until next time….
Sounds like it was a great trip! Love the MoMa! And I’m jealous of that Buffalo Exchange find.
Good to see you on Tuesday! – Katy
