Guest Post: Pink Grapefruit Sake-Aid by A Curated Lifestyle

March 17th, 2011 - 2 comments

Over the next few weeks, I will have several people guest blogging for me on Eat.Drink.Shop.Love. Today, Capella from A Curated Lifestyle is sharing one of her favorite cocktail recipes with my readers. She has an awesome interior design blog where she shares antique finds, interior design inspiration, new merchandise in her Etsy store, and occasionally easy to make recipes. I was so excited when she asked me if she could guest blog.

As told by Capella:

I served this drink recipe at a past dinner party. It was a hit with my girlfriends and I realized that it is a great entertaining cocktail year-round.  This recipe works well all year, because grapefruits are in-season during the winter when many other fresh fruits and vegetables are not, but the fresh citrus also makes a refreshing spring & summer drink.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • juice & zest of one lemon (separated)
  • Juice of one pink grapefruit plus slices for garnish
  • 750ml bottle of sake

How to Prepare:

Make a simple syrup by dissolving the sugar in the water with lemon zest.  Let cool and add lemon & grapefruit juice.  Combine with sake and pour over ice.  Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
